We're always striving to provide our students with the best education possible, starting with phonics-based reading and moving on to fun and engaging STEAM project-based learning. Our scholars learn critical thinking skills, creativity, and outstanding communication capacities, which will serve them well in all areas of life. Who your child is becoming and how safe they are while learning are as important to us as the academic skills we develop in them. Our school counselor teaches character education classes, internet safety, and anti-bullying workshops.
Integrated Tech
We prepare scholars to excel in the tech-driven world with integrated technology in our classrooms. Each scholar receives a Chromebook for use throughout their learning journey at YSGA. The Chromebook is theirs to keep when they graduate with us from 8th grade.

World Languages
at YSGA
Our dual language programs foster bilingualism, biliteracy, enhanced awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity, and high levels of academic achievement through instruction in English, Spanish, and Turkish. Scholars need the support of their families to achieve any academic goal, however, families do not have to be multilingual for their children to succeed in our language program.

Being multilingual (and multicultural) better equips scholars with not only language skills, but also important social skills needed to work with others from varying cultures and backgrounds. Studies have shown there are many benefits of being bilingual, such as:

Bilingual children are able to focus more intently on the topics at hand and avoid distractions from academic pursuits. They can also demonstrate higher levels of cognitive flexibility – the ability to change responses based on environment and circumstances.

Each grade level takes two field trips per year – one educational outing, and the second trip – more fun but still connected to classroom lesson content.

YSGA teachers share their hobbies and expertise through activities that spark creativity, teamwork, and academic enrichment. A wide variety of clubs are organized based on student interests. We have offered gardening, world languages and culture, yoga, painting, arts & crafts, basketball, community service, cheer, dance, table tennis, self-defense, African drumming, leadership, gaming, film, and more!
Saturday Academy
On Saturday mornings from 8:30 AM – 12 PM, we offer small-group academic support for scholars who want to build their skills, improve their performance in reading, writing, and math, get ahead in school, and perform well on the state PSSA tests. Our goal is to reinforce, reteach, and extend learning for scholars in the 3rd to 8th grades. Saturday Academy includes recess, computer time, field trips, and attendance incentives. Families must provide transportation to and from school.
